👩‍❤‍💋‍👩2️⃣ They used to be a treat?

In 1953, C.A. Swanson & Sons was about forever changed the prepackaged meal business. Introducing the TV Dinner revolutionized frozen food. The first Swanson TV Dinner consisted of a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, cornbread dressing, peas and sweet potatoes. The original tray was made of aluminum and each food item had separate compartments. The dinner had to be heated in the oven and took about 25 minutes to coo Today most frozen food trays are made of microwaveable safe material.
I can remember the first TV Dinners. What an exciting idea and treat when we had them. It was so amazing and always had a desert ! Over the they have of course evolved. I eat fewer and fewer of them, they have taken a very artificial taste . Even my Godsons avoid them, saying there is just not a type that they like. Have you ever had a TV dinner? Did you enjoy them as a ? Do have a type that you would serve today?

I always hated them. They were dried out and flavourless.
I still have 4 TV trays. They never get used.

Happy Hump Day Pal, you know the hungry man dinners we still eat on occasion. and well I like the Marie Calendar ones sometimes too, and the Jimmy Dean breakfast bowl with a biscuit and gravy isn't too bad especially if I need a quick bite. I hope you enjoy your day..

Just your average every day run of the mill nana here!!!

Being single and not liking to cook I have them sometimes! Some of the Hungry Man and Marie Calendars r good! I usually spice them up some!
The Jimmy Dean breakfasts r good, at least a quick bite, add some real cheese and jalapenos !
The microwave was one of the best inventions of the century!

AHHH the childhood treat!! I especially waited for the apple rings as dessert or the apple sauce. They were treats once a month maybe. Home cooking was less expensive. I wont buy any type now as once you rad the nutrition label- well it's a total turn off especially the sodium

The pic is a vintage magnet for over $20 .

It was a real treat for us when I was growing up. My favourite one was the fried chicken. Yummy hugs V
